WELCOME TO Trullo Marchione

We are happy to welcome you to our trullo.

The building has been restored to have all the necessary amenities to make you feel at home, while retaining the typical architecture of stone trulli, surrounded by olive trees, quiet, for an immersion in the Pugliese tradition which we hope you will be seduced as we have been.

It was after our wonderful vacation here in this house that we took the opportunity to become the owners !

We wish you to take full advantage of this region and its authentic inhabitants, sumptuous landscapes and beaches, picturesque villages and their restaurants that will meet all your expectations for your vacation under the Italian sun.

GENERAL INFORMATIONs

  • AIR CONDITIONING

    Be sure to use the air-conditioning responsibly. We recommend turning on the air conditioning in the evening, to cool the house and allow you to have a good night's sleep after sometimes very hot days.
    During the day, the house remains cool due to its stone design, ventilation by opening doors and windows is generally sufficient.
    Please turn off the air-conditioning system when you are not in the house and when windows or doors are left open.

  • ALARM

    A remote control was provided to you upon arrival.
    The alarm should be activated when you leave the house, and deactivated before opening the front door.

  • CAR PARKING

    Please park your cars under the carport on the right at the end of the driveway.
    Be sure to close the gate at all times of the day, and as a precaution, do not leave anything of value inside the cars.

  • WATER SUPPLY

    The water supply is provided by an independent tank, largely designed to meet the needs of regular use of the house.
    However, be sure to use sinks, showers or dishwashers responsibly. We also recommend you to drink bottled water.

  • DRAINAGE

    The waste pipes are smaller than those generally used in other countries and therefore can easily become blocked.
    Take care not to throw residues such as coffee grounds, crumbs or excessive fat in the washbasins.
    Also for the WC, be sure to throw only toilet paper in it.

  • ELECTRIC

    Electrical installations in Italy have an automatic cut-off system when too much power is used at one time.
    If this happens, turn off all the appliances in operation, then turn on the main circuit breaker switch in the electrical panel located in the living room next to the front door.
    Please control the consumption of electricity and air-conditioning responsibly.

  • FOOD STORAGE

    We recommend storing your food in fridges. These are set by the management agency according to the periods of the year, please do not change the settings in order to maintain proper operation.
    Food kept out of refrigerators must be wrapped or covered so as not too quickly rot and attract all types of insects.

  • WASTE & RECYCLING

    Separate recycling is working in the municipality of Castellana.
    Please Make sure to regularly sort your garbage, put them into the boxes under the kitchen sink, and deposit the cans in the various coloured containers (glass, cardboard/aluminium, household waste) located at the entrance of the property.
    A pickup schedule is available in this binder or posted in the house.

  • INDOOR FURNITURES

    Indoor furniture should not be brought outside.
    Be careful not to sit on couches and chairs in wet bathing suits or wearing sun tan creams and oils.
    We recommend you to use bath towels on the loungers and handle them with care.

  • LINEN

    On arrival you will find the beds made up and towels in each bathroom (depending on the number of people).
    Pool / beach towels are also available. If you are staying more than a week, a linen change is included, usually done on Friday. (or to be agreed with the management agency)

  • INTERNET

    Wifi access is free, the login and password are noted on the back of the modem, in the living room.

  • EXTINGUISHER

    In case of start of fire, there is an extinguisher in the kitchen.

  • MAINTENANCE

    We want you to enjoy your stay as much as possible without any disruption, however to maintain the pool, plants and garden, we need to visit the property.
    This is why technicians will intervene during the day when necessary.
    If you have any comments or inconvenience, do not hesitate to contact the management agency.

  • SWIMMING POOL

    We believe that we have done our best to make the pool area fairly secure.
    The fence with gate prevents accidental access at night, and during the day, the view of the pool from inside the house is clear.
    A ladder is accessible on an edge of the deepest area.
    Monitor children at all times, buoys-wings if non-swimmers.
    Pay attention to the different levels of depth, and the stairs so as not to injure yourself.
    Do not swim after a meal or after drinking alcohol.
    Use only plastic cups to prevent small pieces of glass from remaining on the floor in the event of breakage.
    Avoid using the pool when completely alone on the property.
    Avoid bathing after applying sunscreen or oil, it makes the water cloudy, yellowish, and unwelcome after a few days. It can also damage the filters.
    We recommend at least wiping yourself before each swim. Use the pool net every morning, if you need, to clean the surface of any insects, tree leaves, etc.

  • HEATING

    In the colder months it is possible to use the heating, by adjusting the radiators to your liking, in a responsible way.

  • DAY OF DEPARTURE

    On your day of your departure, Emanuella from the agency will be present no later than 10:00 am to check out with you and collect the keys.
    Make sure you have cleared and removed any remaining supplies, emptied all the garbage cans and put your bags and waste in the various coloured containers outside the house.
    A charge of 50 € will be charged if the cleaning staff have to take care of the trash left in the house.

 All these shops have been visited by us and that’s why we recommend them to you. But you will certainly discover many others !

The specialties of the region are obviously these recognized wines such as Primitivo or Salice Salentino, but also D.O.P olive oils, fresh cheeses such as mozzarella di bufala, ricotta, burrata) or the typical bowl cheese that is the Caciocavallo. The almond cookies and cakes of the region are also very appreciable, like many pastries or desserts (Bocconotti, Cassata, Semifreddo, etc.)

    Do not miss it. Guided visit (language of your choice) of the caves to more than 60 meters underground, duration approximately 2 hours, in an amazing setting between stalagmites, stalactites, and wonderful multicolored caves.
